The supply of medicines is the most common therapeutic intervention in the NHS. It is estimated that 15-20% of a CCG’s budget is spent on medicines. The CCG maximises this investment by ensuring that medicines used are safe, effective and economical. This is known as Medicines Optimisation and will help contribute towards;
- Improving health
- Improving patient care and satisfaction
- Reducing medication wastage
Local prescribing decisions are available to view on the Frimley ICS Medicines Optimisation Board Formulary.
